Student at the Chapître’s workshop during long years and supervised by Pascal Thouvenin, Pantel worked the knife and paintbrush techniques of the superimposing of glacis to give transparency to his paintings.

Inspired by Camargue’s and Brittany’s seascapes and by the Provence region as well, Pantel painted those colored landscapes that charmed Cezanne and Van Gogh so much. 

His attraction for the seaside leads him from time to time to the Normandy coast as Boudin and Jongkind or to Ile de Ré. Like the Impressionists, he uses for his paintings the sketches produced on a pattern. It is not a matter of copying Nature but to find a poetic expression in it.

In his landscapes of Camargue and Provence, Pantel created a subtle variation of white, grey with a few touches of ocher and pale blue. Light is gently suggested. His works are in public and private collections in France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Japan and the United States.

Pantel exhibits in Paris regularly.
