He participated in the first painting exhibition in Lyon in 1962 and in 1967 he met the painter Robert Godelier. The same year, he became a member of Duhem Workshop and followed Jean Gaudin’s training courses. Alain Cojan suggests a poetic atmosphere in a generous and controlled mixture in the landscapes he loves. He does not exactly paint a landscape but the sensation he feels in front of it.

In some paintings, the eye is immediately attracted by the power of water movement, the representation of irregular reliefs that the breaking waves and sea breezes throw on.

A painter of the sea, we can hear the rolling of the peebles and the comings and goings of the tides in his paintings of Morbihan, Finistère and Côtes d’Armor. He plays between land and sea a powerful range of deep blue, ultramarine, indigo and turquoise.

In his landscapes of Provence, the brilliance of his art reveals itself in an abundance of warm colors, pink and yellow ocher, gold and crimson, in a blue smelling myrtle, olive and rosemary. It is also a haven of peace where only whisper the mistral, the cicadas and In the distance, the reassuring sound of a bell or a herd of grazing goats.

Some camellias and conference type pears still-life are available in shades of pure white, purple, pink and yellow.
