Of Italian and American origins, Francesca is an artist, free, who defines her work as follows: “To paint and give contour to what makes that a Being be unique, with the result that people, a civilization, lives, agitate, struggle, develops towards what gives sense to life”.
Francesca is fascinated by the Human approach with its forces, its weaknesses, its diversity and what it creates.
Among some of her sculptures in a primitive style near to the Inuit culture or Prehistory, one finds women with rounded hips, another holding a baby against her shoulder; bodies of women with purified roundnesses to express feelings and sensoriality.
It is the work and the advance towards design that Francesca wishes to present to you, to make you share today the development of the successive stages until reaching the work of art. It is to talk to you about this egoistic pleasure that each one of them brings along: the trigger of the topic to be dealt with, the choice of the support without forgetting the sketches to be drawn hastily, almost nervously so as not to forget it on a corner of a table; then, to prepare the model out of clay or on a fabric if it is about painting. And, finally, to carve in the block.
Francesca paints as she carves and, when she sculpts from nothing, or when she starts from a whole, it is each time a pleasure. She will not speak to you about passed cognitions always considering that the best is still to come.
